A Parish Fit for Mission
Christ Our Light Parish is part of the Liverpool Diocese’s Fit For Mission initiative, designed to strengthen communities by working together.
Fit for Mission is a journey that Liverpool diocese is supporting to enable groups of individual churches to work together and support each other to focus on missional priorities, tackle key challenges and grow closer together as brothers and sisters in Christ.
By creating a Larger Single Parish comprised of several churches in an area, it can improve administration capabilities, bring greater support and collegiality for clergy members and congregations, and the ability to work together on strategic mission portfolios like youth and children’s work. A support services team manages the administration side of things for the parish, releasing the clergy to be able to focus on mission and ministry to make a bigger difference in our areas.
OUR STORY
Six parishes in South Liverpool Deanery have come together to form one Larger Single Parish supported by a dedicated support services team managing administration for the churches.
The parishes of Speke, Halewood, Hunts Cross, Gateacre, Springwood, and Grassendale are joining together to create Christ Our Light parish.
Our vision is simple
to be a diverse, fruitful, and welcoming place where God’s healing and saving power is the norm. We want to see that working out through:
